There are several options to deal with your hand.

Stand: We have this situation if we have a jack and a king for example. That makes 20 points and actually means there is no chance of 21. So we say the word “Stand” and wave the dealer away or in a single deck game we can place the wager on top of the cards.

We get earnings per hand, so in case one busts we could make even money off of the second hand.

Surrender: In that case we have the chance to surrender as soon as we see our first two. We can hold our hand in Surrender. But this option is available when an ace is the up card in the dealer's hand. There is also a late surrender option in some casinos in which we can surrender if the dealer doesn't have blackjack. Once all players have their hands they display them starting from the player on the left. When the dealer has 17 or more they must stand and in case of 17 they must hit. That is valid for a soft 17 as well. And if the dealer busts that means any player that didn't bust wins

Of course you could double your winnings playing another game. In that case the computer asks if you want to double. And if you answer positive, then you need to choose the higher card. American Roulette Rules
